On 12 July President Michael D Higgins opened the Nelson Mandela exhibition in Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Nelson Mandela and 25 years of diplomatic relations between Ireland and South Africa.
The Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, along with the Apartheid Museum of South Africa have brought From Prisoner to President: The Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition to Kilmainham Gaol, for a period of 6 months, to January 2019. They commissioned Big Red Engine to cover the launch and produce this video.
Also speaking at the event was Mr. Trevor Manuel, Economic Envoy of the new South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa.
